The difference between Foodz PRO and isolated protein supplements

Foodz Pro is a low carb meal with a high protein value: it has exactly 40g of protein. It is ideal for people who practice sports frequently, as it helps build lean muscle mass, and is regularly used as a pre or post workout. You may be wondering: if it is used as a pre and post workout then would it be an isolated protein supplement? Let's analyze the formulas of the two products for you to understand better.

Foodz Pro is a complete meal

protein supplements¹ isolates, as the name suggests, are used to supplement daily protein consumption, helping with muscle mass gain and post-exercise recovery. But not only does our body live on protein, it is as important as paying attention to the consumption of other nutrients so that this mass gain is more efficient. Therefore, supplements cannot be used as a meal, as they lack macro and micro nutrients essential for a balanced diet, such as carbohydrates, fats, fibers, vitamins and minerals.

This already makes isolated protein supplements different from Foodz Pro. Foodz Pro has in its formula a complete nutritional composition for a meal: macronutrients, such as fats, low carbohydrates, fibers and proteins; micronutrients, such as B vitamins (choline B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12), vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, plant based vitamin D, Biotin and minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, iron, zinc, manganese, copper, iodine, molybdenum, selenium and chromium.

Analyzing the Nutritional Chart of the isolated protein supplement

According to the endocrinologist Marcio Mancini², most people go straight to the amount of calories, to know if they are going to get fat or not, and unfortunately the only thing that doesn't get fat is water, air and lettuce. Complete: “there are other data there that are just as or more important, such as fat and sodium”. Therefore, we will analyze the Whey Protein table to understand the formulation a little more.

A He avoids³ has an automatic calculator that shows the amount of each nutrient in a protein supplement isolated from an animal source. For this sample, we used 30g of supplement as a measure (usual average for consumers). It can be seen, as already mentioned, the absence of other macronutrients (carbohydrates, fats, fibers), because the focus of the product is to be a protein supplement.

In 90g you have 312 kcal, because for people who want to gain muscle mass it is recommended to consume more calories, so this caloric value would be about 50% of a lunch⁴.

It is inevitable to emphasize: due to the lack of other macronutrients, isolated protein supplements cannot be used as a meal replacement.

Analyzing the Foodz Pro Nutritional Chart

This analysis will start from the same amount (90g) of Foodz Pro. See the table:

Figure 2: Foodz Pro Nutritional Chart. (Source: Foodz)

Foodz Pro has all the necessary nutrients of a complete low carb meal. It's 358 kcal (ideal for a low carb diet); 14g of fat, 30% of the total energy value of the diet; 8g of fiber, 32% of the daily recommendation; 25 vitamins and minerals and 17g of carbohydrates. The carbs found in Foodz Pro come from the recipe's own ingredients. Foodz Pro is also sweetened with stevia, a natural sweetener.

With the protein value at 40g, it is 60% more than Foodz Original (If you don't know, it's worth a look). In general, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that people consume at least 0.83 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day, so Foodz Pro achieves 80% of the daily recommendation.

Foodz Pro and Whey Protein Aminogram Comparison

We cannot do this analysis without citing the aminogram. O aminograma⁵ it is nothing more than a quantitative analysis of the amino acids present in a given food protein source. This analysis is performed in the laboratory and provides information on the amount of each essential and non-essential amino acid present in the food. This information is important to assess the quality of protein in food and its suitability to meet the nutritional needs of the human body.

Below you can see a comparative table of the amino acids of 1 dose of 90g of Foodz and 1 usual dose of 30g of protein supplement of animal origin:

To fix…

  • Foodz Pro is a complete meal because it has all the macronutrients with carbohydrates, fibers, fats, in addition to a high protein value (40g), unlike isolated protein supplements;
  • Foodz Pro has an essential vitamin complex for good physical and mental health;
  • Foodz Pro can be used pre and post workout due to its complete nutritional composition.
  • Foodz Pro contains 17g of carbs, so it's aimed at people who want to gain muscle mass as well as people who are on low-carb diets.

Finally, it is essential to mention that Foodz Pro has two different packages, but only with the Bag option you can adjust your daily needs. We also recommend talking to your nutritionist or doctor about the ideal dosage for you.
